Applied Archaeology and History Associates, Inc. (AAHA) is a small, women-owned, consulting firm established in 1998 to provide archaeological investigations, historical and architectural studies, and related management and historic preservation services for clients in the Mid-Atlantic. We focus our efforts on defining and satisfying client needs not only to address local, state, and federal cultural resource mandates, but to manage public perceptions of heritage issues and to provide applied research to support heritage tourism and site restoration initiatives.

AAHA has conducted numerous cultural resources investigations associated with projects in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Specifically our services include Phase I Archaeological Surveys, Phase II Archaeological Evaluations, Phase III Data Recovery Excavations, Cultural Resource Studies for Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), Cultural Resource Studies for Environmental Assessments (EA), National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) Nominations, Determinations of Eligibility, Criteria of Effect Evaluations, Land-Use Histories, Cell Tower/FCC Compliance, Cemetery Delineations/Relocation, and Public Interpretation. We have conducted background investigations and cultural resources studies for parks and schools in the District of Columbia, proposed cell towers, the Washington Sanitary Sewer Commission (WSSC) system reconstruction, private residential and commercial developments, transportation and power corridors, local and state parks and natural resources conservation areas. Our depth of experience allows us to serve our clients more efficiently and gain an in-depth understanding of the archaeological and historical record of the Mid-Atlantic.

AAHA strives to provide high-quality, innovative, professional services at competitive prices to deliver exceptional value for our clients. Because we are a small firm each project receives the direct personal attention of one of the firm’s key senior staff, thus insuring that all aspects of our projects delivered on time and are professional in every respect.

Tyler, Vice President, are Registered Professional Archaeologists (RPA) with qualifications that exceed U. S.
