This webinar was designed and developed by the President's Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, which is an independent federal agency that promotes the preservation, enhancement, and productive use of our nation's historic resources, and advises the President and Congress on national historic preservation policy. The expert providers for this webinar are Kelly Fanizzo and Katry Harris.
Kelly Fanizzo joined the ACHP in 2006 and is now the agency’s Associate General Counsel. She has a law degree from American University, Washington College of Law, and an LL.M. in legal education from Temple University, Beasley School of Law. Kelly has coordinated project reviews for both federal property management and assistance agencies. She provides legal advice on the ACHP’s program responsibilities in historic preservation law and environmental law, and she advises the agency regarding other aspects of federal law and regulation. Prior to her current position with the ACHP, Kelly taught legal research and writing and land use planning at the Beasley School of Law, and practiced environmental law for the Navy’s Office of General Counsel in Washington, D.C.
Katry Harris has 25 years’ experience in historic preservation. Since joining the ACHP in 2006, she has worked with FCC, HUD and local governments, VA, the various transportation agencies, the US Forest Service, and NPS regarding their programs and historic preservation policies. She is the ACHP’s Training Specialist and remains involved in ACHP initiatives regarding Section 106 and NEPA coordination, Energy Efficiency and Sustainability, Energy Development and Transmission, Federal Lands Stewardship, and Distance Learning.
